Night flight 2. First time up with Tim, whom I know from around the shop. Good flight, and we (probably) capped off the night lessons. Jason's out sick, hopefully he'll be back on his feet soon. This flight we went to Lanai, and the stick was mine the whole way. You can see the point in the track where I got a visual reference to Lanai -- the line gets really straight. No auto-pilot in there. Just me. Tim had me request an over-water approach to HNL at night. It was interesting, and I'd have to say that the toughest part about landing at night is finding the runway. Actually, my landings have gotten pretty reliable -- the hardest part about landing anytime is finding the runway.

Once you find it, though, it's easy. We were on low final to Lanai airport when the timer on the pilot-controlled lights expired. Tim keyed them up again, but it wouldn't have mattered. Played chicken with a couple of clouds on the way back, but just aiming for the holes (much easier facing Honolulu than facing Lanai) works.
