Flight #12, March 26, 2005

CFI: Jason Hill
MapComments
A bumpy ride, encountered rotor cloud turbulence over H1 on the departure. Jason told me to bear left, away from the Ko'olaus, with the most urgency I have heard in his voice. As we departed Bravo airspace, he posed a question as to what we were doing up there. We had too many clouds to do high maneuvers, and too much wind and turbulence, but I settled on ground reference maneuvers as the order of the day. If you want to practice "not being the wind's bitch", you got to go up when there's wind. So we made an imaginary pattern out of Kunia Road, and a parallel dirt road and flew rectangles.

No progress curriculum-wise, really, but some decent experience. It also alleviated the frustration of not flying.
